Milestone sessions generally take place at 3 months, 6 or 7 months, 9 months, and/or 1 year. Most clients opt for a 1st Birthday Cake Smash session, which includes first birthday and family portraits as well as a cake smash at the end! When scheduling a session around 6 or 7 months old, many families wait until baby can sit unassisted for a "sitter session". If baby is not sitting upright by this time, that's okay too! We can incorporate lots of parent-posing, tummy-time, and more!
When do baby milestone photo sessions take place?
You are always welcome to bring a store-bought or homemade cake for your session as well as any balloons or decorations you'd like to incorporate.
BUT... I know you have your hands full, which is why I offer the option to add-on a gluten, dye, and egg-free 6" smash cake to your session! Giant fringe balloons and custom decorations can also be added-on and I'll bring them with me!
I have a cake stand available whether or not you bring your own cake!
Do I need to bring a cake and/or decorations/balloons?
Just like my other portrait sessions, Milestone and baby sessions can take place in a local Milton, Roswell, or Woodstock studio, in-home, or outdoors. For 1st birthday portraits and cake smashes, I love the simplicity of the studio and that weather has no impact- rain or shine, hot & humid, or snowing!

Investment includes pre-session planning, gallery of 40+ digital images, use of Peyton's client wardrobe for mom, styling for the rest of the family, and coordination with professional makeup/hair artist as desired!

Stressed about styling the entire family? Not here! I partner with an online boutique and offer an ever-changing and growing collection of gorgeous dresses to fit your style. I'll send over clickable style-boards for the rest of the family to pair with your chosen dresses- allowing you to shop with just a few clicks or find something similar at home. I’ll bring two pre-selected dresses for you to choose from to your maternity, newborn or family session.
While I adore in-home newborn sessions, your session can be upgraded to one of my favorite beautiful natural light studios in the Woodstock, Milton, or Cumming areas. If you’d prefer a studio session, or if your home lacks light, bright, natural spaces, I've got you covered! Outdoor newborn sessions are also offered in the spring, summer, and fall.
